Actor Lee Joon-gi is shooting the latest installment in the Hollywood sci-fi film series “Resident Evil” in South Africa.
Namoo Actors, the agency which represents the 34-year-old actor, said on Saturday that Lee has landed a role in “Resident Evil: the Final Chapter” and is shooting in Cape Town with actress Milla Jovovich.
But the agency said that it cannot comment on details about the character of Lee because of a contract the company had signed with the production company.
Meanwhile, Jovovich uploaded a photo of her and Lee together onto her Instagram account on Saturday and wrote, “Working for the last few nights with the incredible third dan of Taekwondo master and actor Lee Joon-gi has been insanely fun and so inspiring.”
In the shared photo, both Lee and Jovovich have scars, which is obviously special effects makeup, on their faces.
The “Resident Evil” series first launched in 2002 and the sixth installation of the film is likely to be released in 2017.
Lee, who has a huge number of fans in Asian countries especially in Japan and China, has appeared in films in those countries, but this is the first time for him to appear in a Hollywood flick.
